Assoc. Prof. Juliusz Piwowarski, Ph.D.
Rector of the University of Public and Individual Security “Apeiron” in Krakow, Poland
Juliusz Piwowarski is the founder of the University of Public and Individual Security “Apeiron” in Krakow, Poland and its rector currently. He is also the director of the Research and Publishing Institute for Security and Defense Studies at “Apeiron” University and the editor-in-chief of the scientific journals “Security Dimensions” and “Kultura Bezpieczeństwa” [Security Culture]. He obtained the post-doctoral degree of social sciences in the discipline of security sciences at the Institute of Social Sciences and Security of the Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in 2017. The dissertation concerned primarily the issues of the culture of national security.
His passions, apart from his scientific interests, have resulted in the qualifications of a shooting, karate, kick-boxing and combat ju-jitsu instructor. He is a member of the Polish Society of Security Studies, International Martial Arts and Combat Sports Scientific Society, the Polish Union of Uniformed Service Instructors, and a multiple participant of the European Championships and World Championships of the All Style Karate. He won All Style Karate World Champion title in 2006.
