The Research Ethics Committee of the CICA is the body responsible for developing research protocols that guarantee that a series of ethical and scientific aspects of great relevance for the community are respected with the triple purpose of adjusting the research to international regulations in these matters, consolidate the strategic alignment of the university’s research projects and actions, and offer supervision, protection, and advice to all the agents involved in any data collection.
It is consultative and certifying in nature. Thus, its three main functions are the following:
1) Certify the ethical suitability of the studies developed by the permanent staff of CICA activities, reviewing all aspects associated with experimentation with humans and verifying compliance with the basic precepts established at the international level.
2) Certify the ethical suitability and compliance with the basic precepts established at the international level of global projects that will be subject to evaluation in any of the current calls by the CICA activities.
3) Respond to inquiries associated with the ethical integrity of behaviors and actions related to research by the CE CICA Centre activities.
